Chris Laverty, Russell Simpson and Jarred Erceg of Grant Thornton UK Advisory & Tax were appointed Joint Administrators of Small World Financial Services Group Limited (‘the Joint Administrators’) and Joint Special Administrators of LCC Trans-Sending Limited on 18 June 2024 (‘the Joint Special Administrators’) (together ‘the Companies’ and the ‘Administrators’). The affairs, business and property of the Companies are being managed by the Administrators.
Update on LCC Trans-Sending Limited (in Special Administration) (the Company)
LCC Trans-Sending Limited (the Company) traded as Small World UK and operated as the main trading entity in the Small World Group, providing cross border payment services to its UK customers and acting as a global ‘payment hub’ for the Small World Group.
Further to the Suspension of Services Notice on 10 June 2024, Small World UK and its associated Group businesses have ceased receiving or processing new money transfer transactions through its agents, branches, websites and mobile applications.
Although the Company is in special administration, the Company continues to be regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (‘FCA’) and is still subject to the FCA’s rules.
The Administrators set a hard bar date of 23:59 (GMT) on 31 August 2025 (the 'Hard Bar Date') for the submission of Relevant Funds Claims. The Hard Bar Date has now passed and no further Relevant Funds Claims will be accepted.
Following the Relevant Fund claim adjudication, the first and final distribution of Relevant Funds was made on 3 July 2026 to all Claimants with an Admitted or Partially Admitted Relevant Funds Claim, at a distribution rate of 48.64 pence in the pound.
The Joint Special Administrators have confirmed a prescribed part dividend will be available to unsecured creditors. Unsecured creditors will include Shortfall Claims and any Relevant Funds Claims received after the Hard Bar Date. We will write to unsecured creditors separately in due course to provide further information regarding the prescribed part dividend, including the process for adjudication of creditor claims and the anticipated timing of any payment. Claimants do not need to take any action at this stage in relation to this.

Please note the administration of SWFSG has now concluded. The Administrators filed their final report with the Registrar of Companies on 12 June 2026. Accordingly, SWFSG will be dissolved three months from this date.
As the administration has concluded and realisations were insufficient to pay a dividend to creditors, we are unable to take any further action in relation to creditor claims against SWFSG.
You can find a copy of the Administrators' final report on the Grant Thornton Insolvency Act Portal (Portal) at www.grantthornton.co.uk/portal, using the log in details we’ve previously provided.
